Plan the ideal grazing time
The level of sugar, fructan and starch (together: NSC) in grass fluctuates constantly, making it difficult to plan turnout (for sensitive horses). Grazey shows hour by hour how this NSC level develops now and throughout the day, alongside an overview for the coming five days.
This gives you the insight to make better, well-considered choices. Plan turnout in advance and discover when conditions are most favourable to turn your horse out, even if only briefly.
Personalised pasture management
Grazey calculates the progression of sugar, fructan and starch (NSC) in the pasture based on location and current weather factors such as sun, rainfall and temperature, but also takes other characteristics into account such as grass type and length.
Because the impact of that grass is different for every horse, this data is combined with the horse's unique characteristics. Such as breed and medical history. This gives the most complete insight to make the right choices every day, tailored specifically to each individual horse.
Use Grazey, but keep the focus on your horse
An app can estimate the sugar level in the grass, but how the horse is really doing shows in the animal itself. Focus on the horse and record the data in Grazey to monitor its health proactively. Note the weight, assess the crest (CNS) and the Body Condition Score (BCS), log the weekly exercise, and feel the digital pulse.
Is the grass favourable in the morning, but is your horse tending towards overweight? Then choose to shorten turnout that day. Clear charts show the trends of the past months, so it becomes immediately visible how your horse responds to your pasture management.
Your horse is the barometer
Grazey estimates the level of sugar, fructan and starch based on several factors. But no horse is the same. Some horses are simply more sensitive to grass sugars and fructan than other horses of the same breed.
Does the graph in the app, for example, keep turning red, while out in the field you see your horse staying fit and even losing weight? Trust your own eyes and slide the sensitivity in the app down a notch. Grazey adjusts instantly, so you don't get stressed unnecessarily by a warning.
